At DICE Therapeutics, we design and develop innovative therapies in immunology for patients with debilitating disease. Seeking to create a future where convenient oral medicines with biologic-like efficacy are available to patients with serious medical conditions, we are developing oral alternatives to medicines currently limited to injectable forms.

Essential Functions:

The VP, HR will be responsible for developing and delivering high-impact people strategies, solutions, and processes to empower a high-performing organization. Reporting to the General Counsel, the VP, HR will serve as a steward to the organization, the company culture and core values, while leading the development of all essential broad-range HR programs and systems to enhance the overall employee experience, including recruiting, employee onboarding, compensation and benefits, HRIS, employee recognition/reward, employee development, leadership development, policies and compliance, coaching and performance, and building an effective Human Resources team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strategic HR function that enables the company to attract, hire, develop, reward and retain top talent, and to deliver on business objectives.
  • Serve as a visible, involved, and engaged leader to employees throughout the organization.
  • Identify, prioritize, design, and implement value-add HR programs and solutions that support employees and business objectives.  
  • Strong advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion who develops best practices to ensure that DICE can maintain a great place to work for all employees.  
  • Build and lead a talented HR team to support business leaders in achieving their goals and talent strategies, while ensuring day-to-day high-touch support.
  • Provide efficient and effective HR tools, programs, and services to all managers and employees located at headquarters or working from remote offices that ensure legal compliance and align with DICE’s values and culture.  
  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, commitment, focus, and excellence.
  • Provide overall leadership and develop an effective and efficient approach for workforce planning from recruiting through total rewards and talent management and development.
  • Utilize best practice knowledge/data to assist and advise in providing solid decisions and solutions and anticipating future needs for the organization.
  • Provide and possess strong leadership and business acumen, and relationship-building capabilities, to inspire and motivate employees in establishing a thriving work environment that is entrepreneurial in nature.
  • Serve as an expert and senior coach to the executive management team and senior leadership.
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of human resource background with strong organizational development, talent management, compensation and benefits, and employee relations experience.
  • Proven leadership experience and track record of success in leading an HR function (setting the vision, and building, leading, and motivating the team) in a dynamic, high growth environment where management of complex and often conflicting requirements is a critical driver of success.
  • Life science experience required, preferably with hands-on experience with both public and private companies.
  • Respect as an HR leader with strong generalist/business partnership background and current knowledge of all the technical and functional components of HR as well as emerging HR trends and practices. Ideal candidates will have helped support an emerging business and will be well versed at helping to drive change and shape an organization’s culture.
  • Successful experience assisting mid, senior, and executive levels of an organization with strategic decision-making and problem resolution; demonstrated ability to serve effectively as a coach and counselor to senior leaders.
  • Integrity and ethics combined with the professional credibility and accountability to command respect and engender confidence across the organization.
  • Track record of building and developing high-performing teams and helping to establish excellent HR practices in a fast-paced life science organization.    
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen and ability to quickly develop an excellent sense of the business, operations, and processes.
  • Experience participating at the Board level desirable.

Salary range: 290,000 – 309,000

The pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including, experience, education, skillset, and geographic location. This range is for the Bay Area, California location and may be adjusted to the labor market in other geographic areas.
